Royle Backs Big Heart 5K

Blues and Reds will go head to head in the name of charity as the Big Heart 5k returns to the city in September.

The annual race, which is backed by Everton legend Joe Royle, takes place on Sunday 2 September in Walton Hall Park.

The event was set up four years ago in memory of Everton legend Alan Ball, and former Blues player and manager Royle is urging Toffees to sign up to help raise money for the Club’s official charity, Everton in the Community.

Joe Royle, who played alongside Ball and is also an ambassador for the Big Heart 5K, said: “This is set to be a fantastic running event. The day is family friendly and the Big Heart 5K run is about supporting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging participation from all age groups.”

The race will start at 10am in Walton Hall Park and runners are asked to wear their colours with pride – Blue or Red!
