Make 2012 The Year You Become A Lifesaver

Evertonians near and far are encouraged to make a winning start to the New Year by rolling up their sleeves and giving blood. Each blood donation can go towards saving or improving up to three lives and it takes just one hour of your time. For those local to Goodison we have a donation session in the People’s Club on Tuesday January 24, which takes place from 2pm to 4pm and then in the evening from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Just 4% of the eligible population give blood, meaning 96% of us are relying on others to keep blood stocks up. There are so many reasons why people may need to receive blood, many of which will touch the lives of all of us. Whether it’s to support patients undergoing chemotherapy, to stem blood loss during childbirth, or as a result of an accident, such as in the case of Blues defender Shane Duffy who received 20 units of blood after rupturing an artery whilst playing for the Republic of Ireland. The details of the donation session are:
