Avid Evertonian and season ticket holder Howard Martin recently hosted a ‘Blue BBQ’ to raise funds for the Club’s official charity.
Howard, who is based in Oswestry in Shropshire, welcomed over 50 guests from all over the UK, including Everton legend John Bailey, into his home and raised £1,400 for Everton in the Community.
This is the fourth annual BBQ Howard has staged after coming up with the idea on his way home from the FA Cup final in 2009.
Speaking about the Blue BBQ event, Howard Martin, said: “I was on my home from the FA Cup Final in 2009 when it occurred to me that I had nothing to do or look forward to over the summer months, so I thought why don’t I organise a BBQ to raise some money for Everton in the Community.
“The event was such a success that I decided to make it a permanent fixture! Since we started the Blue BBQ we have raised over £5,000 for Everton in the Community and we hope to raise even more in years to come.
“Everton in the Community is a very worthy cause and really does make you proud to be Blue,” added Howard.
