Everton in the Community scooped another award recently for its fantastic work engaging with youngsters through soccer camps in Liverpool.
The Blues official charity were recognised at the fourth annual Liverpool Mutual Homes (LMH) Focus Awards where they picked up the inaugural Community Engagement Award.
The awards, which were held at the Isla Gladstone Conservatory in Stanley Park, celebrate inspirational achievements carried out to improve local communities, and over 500 nominations were received for the 13 awards that were handed out.
Everton in the Community coaches delivered three football training sessions in Dingle during half-term and received excellent feedback from the youngsters who took part and their families.
The soccer camps, which were supported by LMH and free of charge for young people in the local area, were hailed as a resounding success.
The coaches from Everton in the Community were praised for their great passion, enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile.
LMH also highlighted the difference that the Blues have made in local communities, from providing training, apprenticeships and work experience, to delivering the popular soccer camps.
Paul West, Community Sports Coach and Choices co-ordinator for Everton in the Community, who attended the awards ceremony, said: "I was delighted to accept this award on behalf of the charity. The soccer camps are a fantastic way of engaging with young people by keeping them active and acting as a diversion from anti-social behaviour. I am proud that our efforts have been recognised in the local community."
